Gary Ong, PhD, is the Founder and CEO of Celadyne Technologies, a company positioned at the forefront of hydrogen innovation. With a doctorate in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, Gary brings deep scientific expertise combined with a proven entrepreneurial track record. His professional journey includes EIR at the Sputnik Accelerator and Fellowship with Argonne National Laboratory’s prestigious Chain Reaction Innovations program. First driven by a personal commitment to sustainability—shaped by witnessing rapid deforestation in his native country, Malaysia—Gary leads Celadyne with a clear mission to deliver scalable, profitable solutions addressing energy innovation across defense and industrial applications.

Corey Staller

Corey Staller, PhD, is the CTO of Celadyne Technologies. He earned his PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin and subsequently served as an engineer at Micron Technologies, gaining significant expertise in advanced materials and energy technologies. Recognized by Forbes as a "30 Under 30" honoree in Energy, Corey is committed to pioneering innovative solutions for large-scale energy transition. He is particularly passionate about aligning sustainable technological advancement with the conservation of public lands and wilderness areas, demonstrating a balanced approach to industry leadership and environmental stewardship.

Erin Castele
Senior Engineer and Membranes Lead

Erin Castele is an engineering lead at Celadyne Technologies, holding a Master's degree in Chemical Engineering from Northwestern University. Joining Celadyne as part of the founding team, Erin has played an instrumental role in advancing the company's membrane technologies and driving customer adoption. Her technical expertise and collaborative leadership style accelerates Celadyne’s capability in delivering commercially viable solutions while ensuring a strong safety culture in the company. Erin is driven by the company's mission, the dynamic team environment and the shared goal of achieving resilient energy transformation.

Toru Hatsukade
Senior Engineer and ELECTROCHEMISTRY LEAD

Toru Hatsukade, PhD, is an engineering lead at Celadyne Technologies, bringing extensive expertise in energy conversion and storage systems. He holds a doctorate in Chemical Engineering from Stanford University and has held leadership roles at internationally renowned institutions such as Karlsruhe Institute of Technology in Germany and Argonne National Laboratory in the United States. His strategic vision and proven capability to lead multidisciplinary teams, positions Celadyne to deliver groundbreaking, market-ready solutions across electrolysis and electrochemical applications.

Dana Kazerooni
Senior Engineer and MATERIALS LEAD

Dana Kazerooni, PhD, is an engineering lead at Celadyne Technologies, where he leverages expertise in polymer chemistry to accelerate the commercialization of advanced hydrogen technologies. He earned his doctorate in Chemistry from Virginia Tech, specializing in polymer-based materials for fuel cells and water desalination. Prior to Celadyne, Dana conducted impactful research at the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory, where he developed and optimized materials critical to national security and energy sustainability. His technical leadership and experience at leading research institutions enhance Celadyne’s capability to deliver innovative, scalable hydrogen solutions for corporate and defense stakeholders alike.

Hitender Singh Saini
Electrolyzer Integration Engineer

Hitender Singh Saini is an experienced systems engineer at Celadyne Technologies, bringing expertise in fuel cell and automotive electrification systems. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from RMIT University in Victoria, Australia. Prior to Celadyne, Hitender served as a Fuel Cell Systems Engineer at Hyzon Motors, where he contributed to advancing hydrogen-powered vehicle technologies. He also previously held a key role as a PHEV Systems Calibration Engineer at Stellantis (formerly Fiat Chrysler), gaining valuable expertise in hybrid-electric vehicle systems. At Celadyne, Hitender leverages this comprehensive industry experience to accelerate the development and commercialization of transformative hydrogen solutions, driving forward the company's leadership in the global hydrogen economy.

Q1 - Celadyne expands! Welcome Dana!

Q2 - Celadyne receives an AFWERX STTR Phase II for fuel cell development for UAVs. Celadyne expands again! Welcome Jaron, Franky and Christy!

Q3 - Celadyne expands to our new 4000 square feet state of the art facility in Fulton Labs, Chicago!

Q4 - Celadyne ships first paid prototypes to customers.

2021

Q1 - Celadyne receives an AFWERX STTR Phase I funding and investment from Shell Ventures.

Q2 - Celadyne and Gary is recognized with the multicultural innovator award from Clean Energy Trust and Nicor Gas.

Q3 - Celadyne is accepted in the Breakthrough Energy Fellows program and receives a DOE SBIR for durable membranes.

Q4 - Corey makes the Forbes 30 under 30 list! Celadyne builds a second lab at the Illinois Incubator Facility.

2020

Q1 - Celadyne receives Department of Energy Phase I and DoD AFWERX Phase II funding.

Q2 - Celadyne receives ARPA-E SEED funding and investment from Sputnik ATX.

Q3 - Celadyne receives NSF SBIR Phase I funding. Celadyne builds out a new  lab at the Illinois Incubator Facility and expands team size to five.

Q4 - Celadyne joins the Third Derivative Accelerator. Celadyne wins the Hello Tomorrow Global Challenge Environment Track.

2019

Q4 (2018)  - Founding of Celadyne Technologies, Inc.

Q1 - Celadyne founders join Sputnik winter cohort as inaugural EIR fellows.

Q2 - Celadyne joins the Chain Reactions Innovations program at Argonne National Lab.
